The AM Project, a 501 (c)(3) was created in 2015 by a group of artists and educators to carry out the mission of empowering youth through arts and music, and reaching young people by tapping into their creativity with; DJing, Music Production, Graphic Design, Creative Writing, and Urban Art. The AM Project has adapted our unique and progressive digital arts and music program to support local non-profits, public schools, home schools, public libraries, and city parks, exciting youth with a new way to express themselves, igniting their creative side. Our programs have been in person at the AM Music Studio or on location with one of our community partners. Like so many organizations, we have had to adjust our offerings to include online / distance learning to accommodate students, parents, educators, staying compliant with CDC and the City of San Antonio COVID-19 guidelines. AM PROJECT DJ CLASSES
DJ 101: Beginners
Using a combination of new technology, equipment, and an online interface, students are introduced to the skills and creativity of DJing. This course will cover the origins of DJing, genres, basic music theory, song structure, equipment, and software. Course will have a music set completion assignment for students to create and perform, either individually and or as a team.

DJ : Intermediate - Advanced
Intermediate / Advanced classes will challenge DJs by introducing new hardware and software features. We will also focus on branding, promotions, and social media / music platforms to share music. Along with the correct set up and approach a DJ should take for promotions, we’ll teach how to correctly broadcast for today’s live online shows.

AM PROJECT MUSIC PRODUCTION CLASSES
Music Production 101
Music Production Class 101 will introduce students to music foundation and song structure. Students will produce music using an online DAW (Digital Audio Workspace). Our online music platform empowers students to explore creative sound recording in all subjects, and it is suitable for all ages and ability levels.
Students will learn:
- Basic song structure
- Create custom beats
- Work with loops
- Record and add vocals
- Produce and export a track
- Introduction to SoundTrap and their interface
- How to navigate the digital audio workspace (DAW)
- Promote music through online platforms

Music Production: Level 2
Intermediate / Advanced Music Production Class is for students that have been producing music and are familiar with DAWS. This Program is all about adding a signature style to the music compositions. Students will learn how to create synth patches from scratch, how to mixdown music, how to maximize recording setup, and how to master tracks for release. This program will introduce and strengthen knowledge of Ableton.
Students will learn:
- Audio Fundamentals / Advanced
- Analysis of music
- A structured approach to producing and finishing tracks
- Music theory that is relevant to producers of electronic music
- Sound design – techniques to make your sounds stand out
- A structured approach to mixing
- Polishing your mix by use of compression, EQ and reverb
- Brand recommendations form Industry Professionals
- Promote tracks / beats through online platforms
